Music SA students are set to shine at this year’s Rock the Show, with the exciting new music event being held at the annual Murray Bridge show this Friday 23rd September. Featuring nine young emerging South Australian bands, the event has been conceived, organised and will be run exclusively by the Certificate IV in Music Business students based out of The Station.
Certificate IV student and Rock the Show co-organiser Ellie Moffatt said she was excited about the opportunities events like Rock the Show brought for young local musicians. “It’s very exciting for us to promote young local musicians like Fact or Fiction, which features musicians from both the Cert III and IV groups.” she said.
This show will feature nine young emerging bands from both Murray Bridge and Adelaide with Sweet Anarchy, Atomic Heart, Fact of Fiction, Beyond the Picture, Misfits of Sythia and Zoe Smith set to perform. The evening also features original and cover material from the Certificate III and IV student bands, as well as from Music SA’s Band Connection program.
“We’re definitely encourage young people to come out to the 98th Murray Bridge show and check out the bands on offer!”
Music SA trainer Rob Pippan was impressed by the quality and progression of the local acts, in particular the Certificate bands.
“They’ve come such a long way since the start of the year. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the band’s original material live.”
