Want to turn your music passion into a profession?
After a successful 2016 which saw Music SA students study, perform and work in hands-on roles in music and festival management, enrolments for the music industry certificate courses will soon close for the commencement of the 2017 study year.
Success stories included hip-hop artist DyspOra (aka 20 year old Gabriel Akon) who launched his Playback 808 label, won the Clipsal 500 Bands On Track Competition supporting Hilltop Hoods and was featured on Triple J and ABC TV’s 7:30. Emo rockers Pemberton (led by 19 year old Jared Grimm) released their debut single ‘Take Back’ and played Stonecutters Festival, supporting Dune Rats, Alex Lahey, Moose Blood (US) and Tired Lion. 18 year old Ciara Keller created her own independent freelance music business Seeking Scarlet, working backstage at Groovin’ The Moo, Semaphore Music Festival, ScumFest and Carclew Dusk Arts Market.
The VET Certificate III in Music Industry (Songwriting / Event Management) course will begin on Thursday 9th February, with the brand new Certificate II in Pop Performance course to start on Friday 10th February. These courses are tailored for high school age students passionate in developing their own creativity through music.
Certificate IV in Music Industry courses begin on Monday 27th February (full-time) and Tuesday 28th February (part-time). The Certificate IV courses support students at all stages of study.
All courses are located in the heart of the CBD at St. Paul’s Creative Centre, a collaborative co-working space for South Australian creative industries and arts sectors. Classes are conducted in St. Paul’s training rooms and creative spaces.
Still unsure of your study plans for next year and want to broaden your education in a fun and creative environment? Limited places are still open for VET, school leavers and adult learners in each of our Certificate courses.
