Course Entry Requirements:
Students do not have to be currently at school, but the course is suitable for those of school-age only. Unfortunately, we do not currently offer this course for adults.
Students will be required to have completed studies at Certificate I and/or Certificate II level OR have completed or are currently enrolled in year 10.
The elective unit selection is designed so that students can gain the Performance specialty. This includes songwriting and performance units, however the additional electives include music business. As such, students do not need to have a high level of formal theoretical musical training, but have an interest in creating original music and working in the music industry as a career and/or become a self managed artist.
However, we do recommend that students undertake instrument/vocal lessons concurrently to get the most benefit from this qualification.
